7th & 8th Grade: Today in Language Arts - Grammar

Today students turned in their weekly reading questions, their memoirs, and their memoir peer reviews. We spent the remainder of class playing "Appositive Jeopardy" on the computers in preparation for Friday's appositive quiz.

7th & 8th Grade: Today in Language Arts - Memoirs

Today we read for 15 minutes in the media center and listened to a BookShare. The students spent the remainder of the class period finishing their memoir peer reviews.

7th and 8th grade: Today in ELA

Both grade levels had identical days.

Students read in their independent books for 15 minutes and then we listened to a student BookShare. Students were given 15-20 minutes in class to work on the first draft of their memoirs. Managers passed out graded papers and students filed these in their portfolios.

Homework: Finish the first draft of your memoir if you haven't already finished. Due tomorrow!

7th Grade: Today in Language Arts - Memoirs

Students read for 15 minutes and listened to a BookShare. They completed a short worksheet where they used their imaginations to turn boring sentences into creative ones. We finished class by going over the guidelines for the memoirs they will be writing over the next week and a half.

8th Grade - Today in Language Arts - Testing

The 8th graders did not have class today due to the ITBS testing.

7th & 8th Grade: Today in Language Arts - Memoirs

Students read for 15 minutes and turned in their weekly reading questions. We continued working on our memoirs. Students selected their topics today and did artistic interpretations of their memoir settings.

8th grade: Today in Language Arts-Reader's Workshop

Today we read for 15 minutes and listened to a BookShare. We continued our Memoir Unit by doing a brainstorming activity. A lot of students used their time wisely and thought of a multitude of ideas for their memoir. Students who already selected their idea started writing their drafts in their Writer's Notebooks.

Homework: Weekly Reading Questions are due on Thursday. There is a field trip on Wednesday so we will not have Language Arts class that day.
