Vocabulary Words

Root Word & Meaning: Dia - across, through, apart

Diabetes - a disorder of the metabolism
Diabolical - mean and evil
Diagnosis - identification of an illness
Diagonal - a straight, slanted line
Diagram - a simplified drawing showing the structure or workings of something
Dialect - a particular form of language
Dialogue - a conversation between two or more people
Diameter - a straight line passing from side to side, through the middle
Diaphragm - muscle that separates the lungs from the abdomen
Diaspora - the dispersion of a people beyond their homeland (often forced)

The Vocabulary Quiz is on Friday, February 27th. Students are expected to know the spelling and definition of each word.
